The 7-Eleven at 1350 S. Halsted St. was robbed for the second time last Thursday, police said. Chicago Police responded to an alarm that was triggered by an employee as armed assailants held up the store at around three in the afternoon. No one was injured and the subjects fled the area.

The assailants made off with some store items and an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.

Although only a half-block away from the UIC Police headquarters at 1140 S. Morgan St., the alarm used at the store alerts the District 12 station of the Chicago Police Department at 100 S. Racine which responded to the call. The store's owner declined to comment.

The same store was robbed in January 2004 shortly after it opened.
