Welcome to sex ed at Early to Bed. This little adult boutique, designed with women in mind, is picking up where high school health class left off by offering workshops for dating and sex. Designed to give honest information about sex and sex toys, the shop also offers a range of different workshops. The workshops are held each month in the store, located at 5232 N. Sheridan, and offer support, advice and information on relationships, sex, and sex toys.
Early to Bed is the first woman-owned sex shop in Chicago, and Searah Deysearch, the owner, designed the shop with aims to provide a more comfortable atmosphere for women; an outlet for expression, and curiosity. Unlike traditional sex shops, Early to Bed encourages women to take control of their sexual side. Although primarily geared towards women, the sex workshops are intended for all genders, unless otherwise stated. With a cheap price and a welcoming atmosphere people should consider attending one because learning will never hurt.
The following is a list of workshops that are going to be available now and in the coming months:
The first workshop is called "Rock Her World: A Toolbox for Men" and will be held on Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. Obviously by the name, this class is designed for men. It will cover the area of female pleasure giving out tips and techniques for better sex. Besides covering the oral, manual and penetrative skills, this lesson will improve communication skills and guys' knowledge about sex toys.
The following week on Nov. 21, a workshop for dating titled "Flirting for Nerds" will try to improve anyone's chance of getting a date. This class is opened to both sexes and will explain the fundamentals of flirting. Early to Bed will present ways to smoothly break the ice, read body language, and will offer tips on sexual and nonsexual flirting with people of all genders.
On Dec. 12, "Men below the Belt" will be the topic. This one is intended for women only where the male anatomy will be discussed and explored. Lessons on the pleasure points will be given followed by instructions on how to give a "stellar" hand job and "mind-blowing" blowjob, hindering the gagging effect and the sore jaw. They even do a demonstration of how to put on a condom without hands.
The last workshop will be on Jan. 16, about breaking up: "Breaking Up is Hard to Do...So What's Next?" This class will assist in returning to the single world for the dumper or the dumpee. People will be taught how to take care of themselves after a relationship with tips on how to meet emotional, sexual, and practical needs without a partner. This course will improve confidence to get over those hurtful relationships.
These workshops all start at 7:30 p.m. and pre-registration is required. Each workshop costs $15, but only $10 for students. One can register for these classes by calling Early to Bed at 773-271-1219 or by e-mailing them at workshops@early2bed.com. Remember that people are not bad, just uneducated. Besides partaking in these workshops, feel free to visit the store where their friendly and educated staff will offer tips to improve your sexual experience.
