Trask earns extension, promises lasting commitment
Getting his fair due
After three years of unprecedented success, UIC head soccer coach John Trask received a four-year contract extension through 2011 on July 29. Trask has taken a fifth-place Horizon League program to its first Elite Eight appearance in 2007. In Trask's brief reign, the Flames have won the Horizon League regular season title, the HL championship tournament, received an at-large birth and automatic birth to the Big Dance, and has seen its national prestige soar.

Younger a summer success, too UIC sophomore back Robert Younger was named to the 2008 Premier Development League All-Central Conference Team for his play with the Chicago Fire Premier this past summer, the United Soccer Leagues announced this weekend. Younger appeared on the backline in 15 matches for the Fire Premier this past season, leading a defense that posted nine shutouts in 17 contests to guide the Premier to a final record of 8-3-6 and the 2008 PDL Midwest Division title.
